Last Show of the Year Coming This Saturday

Here's me and Meggsie from Thanksgiving in Los Olivos

So it feels like the calm before the storm today as we've been preparing for our last show of the year at the Grand Vision Concert Series in San Pedro. Check out http://www.grandvision.org/gallery.shtml . Taran Schindler, who I met last spring and runs this great concert series, asked us to do songs from Appalachia to show the connection between Celtic music and American styles, which for me would be the Jean Ritchie collection. We'll be proud to end the year this way, sharing the songs from the great Jean Ritchie's family collection of old country ballads and Jean's originals from Eastern Kentucky. The Hilonesome Band Quartet will be joining me, Rob Carlson on lead guitar and dobro, Steve Rankin on mandolin and guitar and Fred Sanders on bass. We'll be doing alot of our originals from Rob as well as the old songs, and the guys will be singing some of their favorites also. We hope you can be there with us.

I found out recently that "Green Kentucky Blues" has gotten airplay in the Virgin Islands! My press agent, Teresa Conboy, is totally great and should take full credit. She's really making the FaceBook Fan page jump as well!

I wrote a review today for Jeni & Billy's CD "Jewell Ridge Coal" for Folkworks Online. It's still in process and should show up on the website soon. I'll also be writing one for Beth Wood's new one as well this month, and then onto my new writing gig for Dirty Linen! I'm psyched! Check out Jeni and Billy at http://www.jeniandbilly.com/ and Folkworks at http://www.folkworks.org/.

After our show this Saturday night I'll be all about Christmas and I'm looking forward to it. I sing with an incredible choir at All Saints Church Pasadena (http://www.allsaints-pas.org/) and we're doing Mozart on Christmas Eve, my fave! Then in January the HL Band gets right back to it when we share the bill at Kulak's Woodshed with the great Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements. Make sure to visit our calendar at www.susieglaze.com/calendar. Our show at Kulak's is on Saturday, January 9th. Check this out at http://www.kulakswoodshed.com/ Tune in on the web to see the webcast! How cool is that, huh? As long as I remember to wear black ........You can send us email during the show. Check out tracy at http://www.tracynewman.com/ .
